Description

A pair of cottages dating from the mid-18th century, extended in the 20th century. They are constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with some flared headers, and have a plain-tile roof with a brick stack. Each cottage has a two-unit plan and one storey with an attic. The front has a plinth and dentil eaves course, and a two-window arrangement. The windows are plank-shuttered segmental-arched 2-light casements, with the central windows originally doorways. Each cottage has two gabled dormers, and they share a central stack. A 20th-century extension, built in a matching style, is located to the rear. The interiors were not inspected. These cottages are part of an estate village constructed around 1760 for the 1st Earl Harcourt.
