Description
Bell Cottage is a late 17th-century house with an 19th-century addition to the right. It is constructed of painted, uncoursed limestone rubble with brick dressings, and has an old plain-tile roof that is hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right. A brick stack is located to the left of centre, with an internal stack to the right. The house follows a 2-unit lobby entry plan, with a single-unit addition. The facade is two storeys high and has a three-window range. A three-panel door is centrally positioned on the left. The windows are irregular 2-light casements. Internally, the house has 20th-century stairs. Open fireplaces are present on the ground floor to the left of centre. The left side of the house showcases chamfered spine beams with ogee end stops on both the ground and first floors. A blocked window, visible above the main doorway in a cupboard within the first-floor centre bedroom, indicates a previous arrangement.
