Description
The former warehouse, located approximately 20 meters north of Shillingford Court, is a building dating from the mid-18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared clunch rubble with brick dressings and features an old plain-tile roof. The building has a two-range plan that has been extended to three ranges and stands two storeys high, plus attics.
The triple-gabled front showcases original bays on the left, which include a stepped brick weathering down to the plinth, small windows at the ground floor and in the half-hipped gables, as well as large inserted windows on the first floor. The later range to the right also has altered windows. The earlier bays feature a central brick-framed datestone that is now decayed, along with two stone plaques on the left. One plaque is inscribed "Jan 27 1809/ Up to this stone/ the Water run" (this stone has been renewed), and the other reads "December y 3/ 1768/ Up to this Stone/ the Water run/ JG(?)".
The interior has not been inspected. The building now serves as part of the ancillary buildings of Shillingford Court and is included for its group value.
