Description
The Old Forge is a forge building, likely dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features an old plain-tile roof with a brick ridge stack located to the left of the center. The building is single-storey and has a six-bay, three-window range positioned at an angle to the street. There are plank double doors to the left of the center and a plank door leading to a 20th-century opening to the right of the center. The original segmental-headed openings to the left, center, and right have 20th-century casements, with the right opening also featuring 19th-century plank shutters. On the left side, there is a 20th-century panelled door to the left and an 8-pane window with 19th-century plank shutters to the right. Inside, the building has a queen-post roof. It is included for its group value.
