Description
Emerton House is a house, probably built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond and features an old plain-tile roof with brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a three-window range.
The central entrance consists of a six-panel part-glazed door topped by a decorative fanlight and a rubbed brick arched head. On either side of the door are 12-pane unhorned sash windows with painted wood architrave surrounds and cambered rubbed-brick heads. There is a flat brick band between the ground and first floors. The first floor has a central 12-pane unhorned round-head sash window, also with a painted wood architrave surround and a rubbed-brick arched head with blocks at the impost. Flanking this window are two more 12-pane unhorned sashes with similar painted wood architrave surrounds and cambered rubbed-brick heads. The base of the plain brick parapet at the eaves features stepped brick courses, and there are two hipped dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
