Description
Hampden House is a late 18th-century town house located on Couching Street in Watlington. It features Flemish bond brickwork with flared headers and has a gabled old tile roof with symmetrical brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a three-window range. A concrete lintel is positioned over a mid-19th century four-panelled door that has an overlight, with a 20th-century tripartite sash window to the left. To the right, there are mid-19th century horned sash windows, and above, late 18th-century eight-pane sashes flank blind windows. The rear of the house also has gauged brick flat arches over the sashes. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
