Description

Tallows is a house and shop, now functioning solely as a house, built around 1833. It features header bond grey brick with red brick dressings and a gabled Welsh slate roof, along with a brick stack on the left end. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range. There are segmental arches over the four-panelled doors that flank an elliptical-arched shop window filled with small panes. The first floor has segmental arches over 20th-century two-light casements. Red brick storey bands display the words "TALLOW KITCHEN CHANDLER" painted in black, and the eaves are dentilled. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted for having an immaculately preserved shop front from 1833.
