Description

This is an 18th-century milestone located on the west side of Moulseford Reading Road (A329). It is made of stone and has a half-circular shape with a sloping top. The milestone is inscribed with the distances to Oxford (17 miles), Wallingford (4 miles), and Reading (11 miles). It is reputed to be a rare type of milestone.
