Description
Tudor Cottage is a house that dates from the late medieval period and the 16th to 17th centuries, with a 20th-century extension. It features timber framing with wattle and daub and brick infill, along with some brick and rubble. The roof is thatched and has brick stacks. The house has a four-unit plan and is single-storey with an attic in one bay. The front is irregular, showcasing two shuttered casements in the brick section to the right of the doorway, a very small leaded casement immediately to the left, and a rectangular bay window further left, below a three-light attic window. The extension on the extreme left has applied timbering. The roof is hipped to the right and includes stacks on the left gable and to the right of center. The rear features irregular framing, some old casements, and two 20th-century bay windows. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a flanking winder stair and a pair of cruck blades of heavy scantling. Part of the house is likely to have been an open hall.
