Description
Church Cottage, formerly known as Ivyhouse Cottage, is a house dating from the early to mid 17th century. It is constructed of rendered timber framing and colourwashed coursed rubble, with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The house has a 4-unit plan. The front elevation, with three windows, features three entrances, each with a triangular canopy supported by shaped brackets. There are casement windows with 2 and 3 lights on the ground floor. The first floor has a gabled half-dormer oriel to the left, featuring canted sides, an oak pediment, and a shaped supporting bracket. The roof is half-hipped to the left and includes ridge stacks to the left of centre and to the centre, and a gable stack to the right. The right gable wall is of rubble. The rear elevation has scattered window openings, plus one pair of panelled shutters. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
