Description

Priory Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is built of colourwashed limestone rubble and has a thatched roof with a brick ridge stack. The house features a three-unit plan and is one storey plus an attic. The front has two windows and includes a blocked entrance located to the right of the center, aligned with the stack. To the left, there is a five-light casement, and to the right, a three-light casement, along with two three-light dormers. All casements are low and have heavy frames. The doorway, located at the extreme left, has a heavy chamfered frame. The roof is half-hipped. There are additional wide casements in the left gable wall and small casements at the rear. The interior has not been inspected, but the house may have originally featured a lobby-entry plan.
