Description
Tanner Cottage is an early 17th-century house, altered in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed clunch rubble, with some brick dressings, and has an old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The house follows a T-plan. It has one storey and attics. The three-window front features a projecting cross wing on the right, incorporating some early bricks, a blocked gable window, and two 18th-century windows in the gable wall. To the left of the entrance is an 18th-century window, with a two-light dormer window above. A bay to the left is built in 20th-century brick. A large stack rises in the angle of the projecting wing. The right return wall has an ovolo-moulded four-light mullion window. The rear of the cross wing has brick quoins and casement windows. The interior features chamfered beams.
