Description
Ivyhouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with some earlier elements. It is constructed of coursed clunch rubble and brick in Flemish bond, featuring flared headers, and has a plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The building has two storeys plus attics. To the right of the tiled porch, a wing projects, while to the left are two bays with three-light 20th-century casements that have segmental arches at the ground floor. The side walls of the wing, as well as the end and rear walls of the main range, are made of rubble with brick dressings. The front and left gable wall of the main range has a stepped plinth. There is a large brick lateral chimney projection at the rear and another stack at the junction of the ranges. Graffiti on the front wall includes the date 1781. Inside, there is a through passage with a quarter-turn stair and a beam that features double-ovolo mouldings.
