Description

This is a row of three cottages located in Couching Street, Watlington, dating from the early 19th century. The cottages are built of Flemish bond brick, which is a brick pattern with alternating headers (short end of the brick) and stretchers (long side of the brick), with flared headers, and have a gabled Welsh slate roof and brick ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and have a five-window front. The ground floor has plain architraves over two original six-panelled doors, and two 20th-century shop windows. There is an early 19th-century bow window with an opening pane, and segmental arches over the early 19th-century horned sash windows. The first floor has early 19th-century six-pane sashes under gauged brick flat arches, with a central blind window. The eaves have dentil detailing. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included in the listing for their group value.
