Description
Poplars Farmhouse is a building that originally served as two dwellings and dates back to 1784, as indicated by a date marked on the brick. It was extended to the right around 1790 to 1810. The structure features Flemish bond brickwork with flared headers, and the right bay is also constructed of Flemish bond brick. The roof is hipped and covered with old tiles, complemented by brick ridge and rear lateral stacks. The farmhouse has a two-unit outshut plan that has been extended to a double-depth plan. It stands two storeys tall and has a four-window range.
The flat hoods over the doors in the left bay and the original right bay are supported by carved brackets. There is a 20th-century window inserted to the left, and to the right, there is a six-panelled door (two of the panels are glazed) with an overlight, all framed in a moulded wood architrave. Cambered brick arches are present over the 20th-century windows. At the rear, there is a late 18th-century outshut with an ovolo-moulded surround framing a two-light window. The interior has not been inspected.
