Description
Numbers 3 and 4, known as The Old Rectory, is a house that was formerly a rectory and is now divided into two dwellings. It dates from the early 17th century, with an early 20th-century cross-wing added to the right. The building features a squared uncoursed stone plinth on the left, an uncoursed stone rubble plinth in the center, and red brick on the right. The ground floor on the left is painted brick, while the center and first floor on the left and center are roughcast, likely over timber-framing. The roof is covered with old plain tiles and has a brick ridge stack in the center with diagonally-set flues, along with a 19th-century ridge stack to the right of center. The house has a 3-unit lobby-entry plan and is two stories tall with a four-window range. There is a four-panel door in the center, which is sheltered by a 19th-century open gable-roofed porch. The windows have irregular placements, with ground floor casements featuring Gothick glazing bars. The interiors have not been inspected.
