Description
Copcourt House, formerly known as Copcourt Manor Farmhouse, is a farmhouse dating from around 1720, now used as a house. It is constructed of header bond grey brick with red brick dressings, and the side walls are made of chequer brick. The building has a hipped old tile roof with brick ridge and lateral stacks. It features a double-depth plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a symmetrical five-window range. The entrance boasts a fine doorcase with fluted pilasters and scrolled brackets supporting a segmental pediment, though the door itself is from the 20th century. The windows have segmental arches made of alternating red and grey brick, and there is a red brick string course and dentilled eaves. The house also has 20th-century roof dormers. Inside, the room to the right features small panelling with a dado rail and plaster cornice. The straight-run stairs have turned balusters on a closed string. There is a large open fireplace in the rear left room, and an ovolo-moulded door frame leading to the rear right room. Attached to the left are 18th-century barns and a stable, constructed of weatherboarding on an uncoursed limestone rubble base, topped with half-hipped old tile roofs.
