Description

The Attington Toll House, likely dating from around 1770, was originally built for the Thame United Trust. It is constructed from render, likely over brick, with slate hipped roofs edged with lead. Rendered brick stacks are positioned on the right side and to the right of the two-storey section. The building exhibits Gothick style detailing. It features an octagonal two-storey portion connected to a single-storey, single-bay wing on the left and a further single-storey, two-bay wing on the right. A doorway is blocked in the centre of the octagonal portion, and a six-panel door with a four-centred arched head and hood mould is located to the right of the centre. All windows have wood Y-tracery, with four-centred arched heads and hood moulds. A flat band of render separates the ground and first floors of the octagonal section, and plain parapets run along the eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
