Description
The Oast House is a 17th-century oast house that has been converted into a residence. It features large timber framing with angle braces and brick infill, topped by an old plain-tile half-hipped roof. The building is single storey with an attic and has a three-window range that runs at right angles to the street. There is a 20th-century plank door to the left and irregularly placed 20th-century casement windows. The house also has two gabled dormers. At the rear, there is a 19th-century red brick kiln on the right, which has a pyramidal plain-tile roof and a wood louvred cowl at the apex. Inside, the structure includes an arch-braced collar truss roof, and the floor beams and joists are still present.
