Description

Tudor House, along with its attached wing and barn, is a house dating from the late 17th century. It features a rendered base and large timber-framing with rendered infill, topped by an old plain-tile roof. The house has a central brick ridge stack with diagonally set flues and follows a two-unit lobby-entry plan. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window range. The central entrance is a plank door, flanked by three-light leaded casements. The first floor jetties out, supported by shaped brackets, and has a two-light leaded casement in the center. There are angled wood bays on brackets to the left and right, each with leaded casements and false rendered gables above. The left and right cross-gables are tile-hung and feature two-light leaded casements. The right side of the house shows large timber-framing with painted brick and rendered infill, a jettied first floor, and a tile-hung gable end.

Inside, the room on the ground floor to the left has bolection moulded panelling, a richly carved cornice, and a fireplace with a shouldered surround and a lavishly carved mantel shelf. The over-mantel is also adorned with swagged detailing. The original dog-leg staircase, which runs from the cellar to the attic, features windows along its ascent.

The rear wing is a single storey with an attic and a plain-tile roof, while the barn has a thatched roof and is constructed using queen-post framing.
