Description

These are two mid-17th century houses located on the north side of Main Road in East Hagbourne. The ground floor is painted brick, while the first floor is timber-framed with angle braces and painted herring-bone pattern brick infill. The roof is tiled with a brick central ridge stack. The houses are two storeys high and have a two-window front. There are plank doors on the left and right sides of the facade. A central window has three lights, and there are two further three-light wooden casements. The first floor is jettied, supported by a moulded bressumer. The first floor windows are horizontal sashes, with a single-light window positioned centrally. The right return has timber framing with some roughcast rendered panels, and the left return features timber framing to the first floor. The roof structure includes a queen post truss with shingle hanging to the apex.
