Description

20 and 21 Village Street are two cottages dating from the early 19th century, built for the Stonor Estate. They are constructed of Flemish bond red brick, featuring raised flared brick quoins, pilaster strips, voussoirs, and an eaves band. The cottages have an old tile roof and banded brick stacks. They are one storey with an attic and present an 8-window range, arranged in a 2:4:2 fenestration pattern. There is a gabled dormer above the central closely-spaced bays, which are flanked by pilaster strips of alternately raised and flush brick. The windows have flat brick arches and consist of 19th-century one-light casements. The gabled roof has ridge stacks, and there are gabled porches leading to 20th-century doors in the gable-wall entries. The interior has not been inspected.
