Description
22 and 23 Village Street are two cottages built in the early 19th century for the Stonor Estate. They are constructed from flint rubble with quoins, pilaster strips, and dressings made of alternating red and flared brick, topped with an old tile roof and featuring banded brick stacks. The cottages are one storey with an attic and have a total of eight windows arranged in a 2:4:2 pattern. There is a gabled dormer above the central closely-spaced bays, which are flanked by pilaster strips of raised and flush brick. The windows have flat brick arches and consist of 19th-century one-light casements. The gabled roof has ridge stacks, and there are gabled porches leading to 20th-century doors in the gable-wall entries. The interior has not been inspected.
