Description

Three Tuns Antiques is a house that now functions as a shop, originally built in the 17th century, with some parts dating back to the 15th century. It was extended in the late 16th or 17th century and remodeled in the late 18th century. The building was originally timber-framed and is now rendered, featuring a gabled 20th-century tile roof and a brick ridge stack. It has an L-shaped plan with a rear left wing and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range.

The late 18th-century stone architrave surrounds the 20th-century door, while a mid-19th-century moulded cornice tops a 19th-century door with an overlight, and there is a 20th-century three-light window to the left and an 8-pane sash window to the right. There is a carriageway with double doors to the right and horned mid-19th-century sashes on the first floor. A fire insurance plaque is located above the door, and the eaves are dentilled.

The rear wing, which dates back to the 17th century, is two storeys tall and features timber framing with colourwashed brick infill and an old tile roof. There is also a later 17th-century timber-framed wing at the back that is one storey with an attic and has a gabled old tile roof. Inside, there are 18th-century doors, original beams and joists, and the left side of the building, which dates back to the 15th century, has a timber-framed right side wall with tension braces and a tension-braced crown-post truss at the rear.
