Description
Hammonds Farmhouse barn, located approximately 15 metres west of the farmhouse, is a Grade II listed structure dated 'Sr.C.H. Hardy R. 1774 F' on the tie beam. The barn features a flint wall with brick dressing on the left, a brick wall on the right, and brick returns on both ends. It has a timber frame with weatherboarding and a tile half hipped roof with lead ridges. The barn is a five-bay aisled structure with a central midstrey that has projecting hipped roofs supported on curved braces. The end walls include ventilation slits. Inside, there are jowled wall posts and a curved principal roof. Additionally, there is a 19th-century wing to the east. Sir Charles Hardy, who the barn is named after, was the brother of Admiral Nelson's Hardy.
