Description

Lime Tree Farmhouse is probably a late 16th-century farmhouse, with an 19th-century addition to the front. The ground floor is painted brick, while the first floor is rendered timber-framing, topped with an old plain-tile roof. A brick ridge stack is centrally located. Originally, the farmhouse was built with a two-unit lobby-entry plan. The rear elevation displays a two-storey, two-window range. A 20th-century, gabled porch with double-glazed doors is located to the left of the centre, with a three-light wooden casement window to the right. A two-light wooden casement window is found on the first floor to the left, and a jetty extends the first floor to the right. Another three-light wooden casement is on the first floor to the right, with a cross-gable extending from that side. Inside, a straight flight of stairs leads to the 19th-century addition. The upper levels contain a cruck roof construction with collar bracing. A blocked fireplace is on the ground floor to the left, while the ground floor to the right contains an altered fireplace. To the left of the farmhouse is a former barn, featuring three upper cruck trusses cut off above the collar.
