Description
The Old School Building at South Oxfordshire Technical College, built in 1879, is a former school constructed from knapped flint and red brick. It features a retiled roof adorned with crested tiles and finials above the main gable facing the street. A lancet vent is positioned above a large Gothic window with tracery. The entrance is located under a twin-gabled porch on the western side facade, which has a stone tablet above it. This elevation is supported by buttresses. The building is recognized for its visual importance within the group, which includes Nos 5 to 19 (odd), the South Oxfordshire Technical College Old School and Main Buildings, Nos 43 to 49 (odd), and the wall and gate piers to the former Paradise House. Ancastle Cottage, Nos 2 to 36 (even), and the pavement surface in front of those properties also contribute to the group, along with the entrance walls, piers, gates, and the lower lodge of Friar Park.
