Description

This is a raised cobbled pavement with a central band of flagstones, situated above the roadway. The pavement is supported by a retaining wall constructed of blue brick and includes central steps. The raised pavement and associated wall form part of a group of buildings and features, alongside numbers 5 to 19 (odd), the Old School and Main Buildings of the South Oxfordshire Technical College, numbers 43 to 49 (odd), the wall and gate piers originally associated with Paradise House, and Ancastle Cottage (numbers 2 to 36 even). The arrangement continues opposite Ancastle Cottage, connecting to the entrance walls, piers, and gates of Friar Park, and also linking to the lower lodge of Friar Park.
