Description

Butlers Farmhouse is a 17th-century house with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of brick with a plain tile roof and has brick ridge stacks. The property follows a four-unit plan, comprising one storey and an attic. It has a five-window front. A central, gabled timber-frame porch, with brick infill at the base, contains a sash door. The ground floor has irregular fenestration featuring five 20th-century casement windows. Three gabled half dormers are positioned centrally to the roof. The first floor has a single 2-light casement window at each end. The roof is half-hipped, and queen post trusses are visible on the left and right hand returns. Inside, the sitting room retains an original fireplace with a domed bread oven. Some wind braces are visible within the roof structure.
