Description
Cross Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It likely dates from the 15th century, with alterations from the 16th, 17th, and 20th centuries. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the first floor features timber framing with red brick infill and rendered panels. The roof is covered with plain tiles and there are brick stacks. The building has a double-ended hall house plan with later additions. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a seven-window range. There is a studded and ribbed door to the right of the centre, framed by a moulded wood surround. The windows are irregularly arranged and consist of wooden mullioned leaded windows. To the left, there is a queen post cross-gable with a mullioned window in the attic, and there is probably a 20th-century cross gable to the right. Inside, there is a double-height hall featuring a queen post roof with wind braces. There is also a subsidiary barn to the right.
