Description
Vine House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, likely featuring a partial refront of a 17th-century structure. It is constructed of painted stone ashlar with an old plain-tile roof and has brick end stacks with rebuilt tops. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a three-window range. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a decorative fanlight set within a round-arched opening. All windows are 12-pane unhorned sashes. The house has a painted moulded cornice and a plain stone parapet at the eaves. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed dormer in the centre. To the right, there is a single-storey and attic bay that continues the main front, rising from the roof. The ground floor features large timber framing with angle braces and brick infill, along with an old plain-tile roof. The continuation of the main front is likely rendered, probably on timber framing, and includes a three-light casement window on the ground floor and an 8-pane window on the main front continuation. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
