Description
The Abbot's House is a house that likely dates from the mid-17th century. It features a cobble stone plinth and large timber framing with painted brick infill on the ground floor, while the first floor has rendered infill. The roof is thatched with a catslide on the right end and a brick ridge stack at the center. The building is two stories tall, with seven bays and four windows. There is a plank door located to the left of center, which is sheltered by a 20th-century open thatched porch. The windows have an irregular arrangement of casements. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have 17th-century wall and ceiling paintings of figures in one of the first-floor rooms.
