Description

A farmhouse, dating probably from the early 17th century, now divided into two cottages. The building is located on the east side of the Ickford Road in Tiddington-with-Albury. It is constructed of plastered timber framing with a thatched roof and a brick ridge stack. The original plan comprised four units, with a gable-ended outshut. The front has two storeys and four windows. A door is positioned to the extreme right, and another to the left. The ground floor features two three-light casements and a similar window, while the first floor has a two-light leaded casement. The roof is half-hipped to the left, covering a stone gable outshut. A central stack is present. The left half of the farmhouse includes a rear outshut with exposed timber framing and brick infill, containing a rear door and an attached boxed lead pump. The right gable reveals exposed framing with some brick infill. The interior of Albury Farm Cottage (the right-hand cottage) incorporates a large open fireplace. Draycot Farm Cottage (the left-hand cottage) retains chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, a dogleg staircase, plank doors, and a semi-basement within the gable outshut.
