Description

Chough Cottage is a house dating from the mid-17th century, with a 20th-century addition to the rear. The ground floor on the left and centre is painted brick, while the right side is painted uncoursed stone rubble. The first floor features timber framing with painted brick infill, and is covered by a thatch roof, which is half-hipped to the right. A large brick end stack with a stone base is on the left side. The cottage is two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. A 20th-century plank door is located to the right of the centre. Windows are a mix of 19th and 20th-century casements, arranged irregularly. A swept dormer is positioned to the left of the centre. The right return features rendered infill to the timber framing. The interior remains uninspected.
