Description
Lower Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid-17th century, with an early 18th-century addition on the right. The building features painted uncoursed stone rubble on the left side, painted brick on the ground floor to the right, and red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond on the right, which includes an inverted heart design in the flared headers to the right of the center. The roof is covered with old plain tiles, and there are brick stacks at both ends and a ridge stack at the junction of the mid-17th-century and early 18th-century sections.
The farmhouse is two stories high and has a two-window range on the left and a taller two-window range on the right. There is a 20th-century ribbed door leading to an open porch in the center. All openings have 2-light casements, except for a 4-light casement to the left of center. A flat brick band runs between the ground and first floors on the right side. Inside, there are open fireplaces in the center and right of the ground floor, and the ground floor features chamfered spine beams with what are likely 19th-century carved brackets.
