Description
Nos. 91 and 92 on High Street are townhouses that have been divided into two dwellings. They date from the early 18th century and are built of grey brick with red brick dressings, topped with an old plain-tile roof and featuring brick end stacks. The building is three stories high and has a five-window range.
There is a central doorway, although the door is missing, which is flanked by a fanlight and has a painted wood architrave surround. A flat hood supported by carved scroll brackets is above the doorway. The ground and first floors feature 12-pane unhorned sash windows with flat brick arched heads, while the first-floor window on the left was covered at the time of the survey. A flat brick band runs between the ground and first floors, as well as between the first and second floors. The second floor has 9-pane unhorned sash windows with flat brick arches. A moulded brick cornice is located at the base of the parapet, which also has recessed panels. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to contain an early 18th-century dog-leg staircase.
