Description

The Lilacs is a house dating from the late 16th century. It features square timber framing with brick infill, displaying herringbone patterning on the ground floor and in the central panels. The roof is gabled and covered with old tiles, and there is a large central brick ridge stack with three diagonally-placed flues. The building has a three-unit plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has a three-window range. The entrance includes a late 19th-century plank door, and there are two- and three-light casements. Gabled ends flank the central block. Inside, the house has chamfered and stopped beams.
