Description

This building comprises numbers 64 and 72 West Street, dating from the later 19th century. It features a facade constructed of knapped flint with red brick dressings, topped by a large half-hipped gable. The building is two storeys high and has three windows, each with segmental arches and late 19th-century glazing. A central recessed doorway is set back and accessed by steps.

Numbers 64 and 72, along with numbers 58 to 64 (even) and 72 to 76 (even) on West Street, form a group. This group is associated with numbers 35 to 39 (odd) on the opposite side of the street, as well as with listed pavements, walls above the entrance to Adwell Square, and the rear wall of numbers 38 to 56 (even) Gravel Hill. Additional connections are noted with Hop Gardens and York Road.
