60 and 62 West Street is a cottage dating from the 17th or 18th century with an altered facade. It is constructed of red brick with grey headers and features a steeply pitched old tiled roof with a rendered gable end. The building has two storeys and a basement, with two windows on each floor; the western window on the first floor is blank. No 62 has sash windows, while No 60 has leaded reproduction casements. There are flights of steps leading to the side doors, and No 62 includes a wooden porch.
These cottages, along with Nos 58 to 64 (even) and Nos 72 to 76 (even), form a group with Nos 35 to 39 (odd) opposite, as well as the listed pavements and walls above the entrance to Adwell Square, including the wall at the rear of Nos 38 to 56 (even) Gravel Hill.
