Description
Pembroke College's Staircase 13, part of a building dating from 1485, is a 16th to 17th century, three-storey structure made of stuccoed stone and timber framing, featuring cellars and overhanging sections at the first and second floors, along with an overhanging eaves cornice. The south wing, constructed of rubble that is partly repointed and partly roughcast, may be older than the front section. The ground floor has two early 19th century sash windows and a door-frame. On the first floor, there are two 18th century sash windows in moulded frames. The second floor boasts a 17th century moulded six-light oriel window with wooden mullions, supported by two moulded scrolled brackets. The interior includes an early 17th century fireplace surround, although the entire building has been modernized.
