Description
Crockwell Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed from ironstone ashlar, featuring a steeply pitched slate roof. The building has stone-coped gables with moulded kneelers and brick ridge and end stacks. It is designed in a three-unit plan, with two storeys plus an attic, and has a three-window range. The entrance is located off-centre to the left and includes a doorway with a moulded stone basket arched head and a 20th-century door. Above the entrance is a hood mould with diamond-shaped label stops, and it is flanked by three- and four-light stone mullioned windows. To the right, there is another four-light stone mullioned window. Between the floors on the right side, there is a two-light stone mullioned stair window. On the first floor, there are three three-light stone mullioned windows. The attic features a staircase light that is said to have once been gabled. The right gable has two-, three-, and four-light stone mullioned windows, each with a hood mould and label stop. A sundial is also present. The interior is reported to contain stop-chamfered beams, inglenooks, and an original staircase, although the interior has not been inspected.
