Description

SWALCLIFFE MAIN ROAD SF 33 NE (North side)

SP/249 Shelter Shed south east of Tithe Barn (qv) GV II SHELTER SHED. Datestone 1 1719 A at north-west corner. Coursed ironstone rubble walls, thatched roof. Six bays, all but the western one open to the South, the ends of the trusses being carried on timber posts. Two doorways symmetrically placed towards outer ends of north wall. Half-hipped roof. Collar beam trusses with queen struts. There is a long narrow C19 addition of similar construction extending south from the south east corner.
