Description

The Church of St Mary Magdalene features a group of two headstones located approximately 4 meters south of the chancel, dating from around 1700. These headstones are made of marlstone and are designed in the Baroque style. Each stone has a scrolled head and a moulded rectangular inscription panel, which is framed by festoons and drops of fruit and flowers. The later stone is larger and more elaborately decorated. The inscriptions include the dates 169(?) and 1704, and both stones have verses inscribed on their backs.
