Description

Daisy Hill Farmhouse is mainly an early 18th-century farmhouse, although it may have earlier origins. It is constructed of mixed limestone and marlstone rubble, with some squared marlstone dressings, and wooden lintels. The roof is covered in Stonesfield slate and features ashlar and brick ridge stacks. The original plan consisted of two units, later extended to form an L shape. The farmhouse has two storeys plus an attic. The front has a six-panel door located to the left of centre, sheltered by a tiled canopy. To the left of the door is a three-light casement window, and above it, at first floor level, is a renewed casement window set within a marlstone flat arch. The right-hand bay has an altered window. The steep-pitched roof has a gable parapet on the right side and a twin-shafted ashlar stack, with a moulded base and cap, positioned to the right of the entrance. A later rear wing, extending to the left, features irregular casement windows with wooden lintels, as well as a 20th-century oriel window. The interior remains uninspected.
