Description

Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century and was remodeled around 1740, with some early 19th-century alterations. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof. The external end stacks are finished in 20th-century brick. The farmhouse has a three-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range.

There is a 20th-century rendered porch that leads to an early 19th-century six-panelled door. The mid-18th-century ground-floor sashes have keyed raised stone architraves and consist of ten panes with thick glazing bars. The first floor has an early 19th-century six-pane sash and 20th-century windows in the gabled dormers. At the rear, there is a central stair-turret.

A mid-19th-century rear left wing has brick dressings, a 20th-century plain tile roof, and a brick end stack, along with an outshut and a six-panelled door to the left. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beams and mid-18th-century panelled doors. There is a fine mid-18th-century panelled room with an early 19th-century marble fireplace to the right. The central room includes 17th-century and mid-18th-century panelling, as well as a mid-18th-century corner cupboard. A notable feature is the mid-18th-century open-well staircase with turned balusters. The first floor is recognized for its panelled rooms.
