Description
No. 12 Horse Fair is a house that has been converted into a surgery. It dates from the 18th century and has undergone later alterations. Above the entrance, there is a datestone marked RC/1894. The building is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a stone slate roof laid in diminishing courses. It has two brick stacks located on the ridge and at the left end.
The house is two storeys high and has a five-window range. The 20th-century door is off-centre to the right and has a renewed stone lintel and cornice. To the left of the door, there is a two-light window with a moulded stone cornice. On the right side, there are two windows; one features a triangular pediment while the other has a moulded stone cornice. The first floor has five windows, each with chamfered wooden lintels and stone sills. The ground floor shows some renewed stonework to the left and right of the entrance. The interior was remodelled in the 20th century.
