Description
Vine Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone and features wooden and concrete lintels, topped with a concrete plain-tile roof that has a rebuilt ridge stack. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The front has three windows, with the entrance located at the extreme right beneath a single-light window. The remaining windows are three-light casements, except for an old four-light casement at ground floor in the second bay. The steep-pitched roof includes a large stack positioned to the left of the center. Inside, there are stop-chamfered beams and joists, as well as a large inglenook fireplace that backs onto a smaller 19th-century fireplace. The property's deeds are said to date from 1670.
