Description
South View is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared marlstone and ashlar, with some brick, and features a Welsh-slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a central-stair plan with subsidiary ranges and stands two storeys tall. The symmetrical front has three windows made of ashlar, with a central two-panel door that includes an overlight and panelled reveals, all beneath a shallow canopy supported by consoles. The ground floor features taller 12-pane sash windows. The roof has overhanging boxed eaves at the front. At the rear, there is a stone wing extending from the left, which has additional sashes, and a narrower brick range that extends further back, featuring a carriage entry with double doors beneath a depressed arch. The interior has not been inspected.
