Description
This is a row of four houses located on Oxford Road in Banbury, built in the mid-19th century. They stand on a raised terrace set back from the road. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings, topped with a slate roof and brick stacks. The row has three storeys and a basement, with an overall eight-window range. Four entrances are accessed by stone steps, each leading to a panelled door with panelled reveals and an overlight; two of these overlights feature glazing bars arranged in a geometrical pattern. Numbers 33, 35 and 39 have balconies, and doors with margin lights leading onto these balconies. Numbers 33 and 39 are distinguished by wrought-iron balconies. Number 35 features a single-storey bay window constructed of red and white brickwork, also with a wrought-iron balcony. Numbers 33 to 39 feature two-storey canted bay windows with horned sashes. The first and second floors largely contain sashes with three-pane glazing bars. Number 35 has wrought-iron window hoods, while number 37 has double-glazed windows throughout. The brick detailing includes flat arches, and a wide eaves soffit. The interiors have not been inspected.
