Description

This is a mid-19th century house, later used as a woolen mill and now a shop. It has been altered in the 20th century, particularly to the ground floor. The upper floor is painted brick, while the ground floor is stuccoed. Brick end stacks rise from the roof. The building is three storeys high and has a three-window front. The 20th-century rusticated ground floor features semi-circular headed window and door openings, topped by a dentilled cornice. The first floor has three sash windows with margin lights and horns. The central sash has a pedimented cornice supported by consoles, while the side sashes have plain cornices on consoles. All the first-floor windows are ornamented with leaf decoration below the consoles. The second floor also has three sash windows, with a moulded and bracketed eaves cornice below a panelled brick parapet, flanked by pilasters. The ground floor was remodelled in the 20th century. The building is of group value.
